Congratulations to the Eastern York Knights!
This team does so much for their unit, the 10th Mountain Division. Just see Coach Bob Rhein's email to ASA President Linda Patterson: Linda - Last weekend, our U-15 team played for the championship in the York County Lacrosse Association. This was the third year that this group of young men made it to the finals and for the second consecutive year, they went undefeated and won the championship. As you may suspect, they (we) were all pretty excited after the game on Saturday. As we recognize Memorial Day this coming weekend, I am reminded of the tremendous responsibility that we have as a result of our relationship with ASA. The championship was nice to win, but the memory and impact of ASA on our young men will last forever. They have truly learned some valuable “life lessons” thanks to you. They still talk about our trip to Bucknell and meeting you. I will be putting together a slide show highlighting our care package drive that I will share with you and Tee next week. As a preview, I am forwarding this photo to you. Our team photographer took some photos a few weeks ago. We hang the beautiful blanket that we received from the 10th Mountain Sustainment Unit at all our home games. Through some awesome photo editing, he blended our team photo onto the blanket. It was presented to me in a beautiful frame at our team picnic this past week. You can see the boxes stacked in the center of the photo. We have close to 30 boxes and 1,000 pounds of items shipping to the 101st Airborne next week. Stay tuned for more from the KNIGHTS. Have a great weekend! Bob
