Happy Mother's Day
Letter From a Mother, 08 May 06

Dear Kayla,

My name is Deborah Corso and I am Billy Corso's step mom. I understand that you are fostering Billys Unit through the ASA-USA. Billy's Dad and I wanted to personally thank you for what you are doing for these men and women. Our hearts are warmed by the love and support you are offering these Marines and I know that each and every one of them feels the same. I wanted to share a few things about Billy- to tell you what a wonderful kid he is. As you already know, Billy is A USN corpsman attached to the 3/8 LIMA Co of the USMC. Billy enlisted fresh out of high school and when he did he expressed an interest in becoming a medic. God willing, he will come home and continue his education, as he wants to become a Pediatric PA. Billy is an exceptional young man. He's been through an awful lot. Not long after Billy enlisted, his Mom died of metastaticic breast cancer. She had been ill for many years and when she died Billy and his 3 other siblings were devasted. I think her fight with that illness was part of Billy's inspiration to pursue a medical career. I also know the children of IRAQ have inspired him. The last time Billy was deployed, we asked him what sorts of things we could send, and first on his wish list was candy for the Iraqi kids and things like childrens vitamins and infant tylentol, pedialyte, etc for the sick children that many a desperate parent would bring out to the guys. That is the kind of wonderful, compassionate and selfless person he is.

I just wanted you to know what a great kid he was, and how deserving he is of the wonderful help and support you are giving him. I know the same can be said for the other men & women he is serving with, who have left so much behind to make this world a better, safer place. I hope one day, you can meet Billy. When you do you will know instantly how sweet and special he is and why we love him so much. Please know how grateful we are for what you are doing to keep all of their spirits lifted. You will always have a special place in our hearts.

With Love and thanks from the whole Corso family,

Mrs Deborah Corso
