November 21, 2007Brothers and Sisters of ASA,
Veterans Day has come and gone. We have thanked those that have served and those that are serving. We Honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. We graciously thank all our troops who give “Service to the Greater”. Understanding of what “Service to the Greater” means. Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, Sailors’ Coastguard, National Guard and Reservist all understand “Service to the Greater”; they understand that there is something more important than our individual selves. They serve the United States of America and are willing to sacrifice serving to that end. America’s forces will do anything for you. They are a loyal bunch. They are… fiercely loyal. They will follow their leaders to the gates of Hell for no other reason than because they know their country needs them to do it. They do it willingly …proudly. We can never thank them or repay them enough for their sacrifices. Our servicemen and women are carrying through their difficult missions with great success and we need to recognize those successes. THANKSGIVINGThanksgiving is upon us.

I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others feared to go. And did what others failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing And reluctantly accepted the thought Of eternal loneliness…should I fail. I have seen the face of terror: Felt the stinging cold of fear: And enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments of love. I have cried, pained and hoped…but most of all, I have lived times others would say Were best forgotten. At least someday I will be able to say That I was proud of what I was ….. A Soldier. -George L. Skypack |
You each are giving “Service to the Greater”…America Thanks you! Happy Thanksgiving.
Until next month.
